and sport injuries

A correct patient care is not concluded with a clinic examination or diagnostic examination, not even with a successfully surgery, but only with a successfully concluded rehabilitation process.

We believe that for an optimal result of the treatment it is extremely important, that the entire diagnostic process, and any necessary surgery and rehabilitation, is managed and led by the same specialized and properly trained orthopedic. In the desire to ensure an effective high-quality treatment and thus the most rapid and successful recovery, we strive to provide all of the above on one place.

Programs of post-operative rehabilitation with physical therapy conducted at our center are individually designed and guided by a qualified physical therapist under the supervision of the attending orthopedic specialist. Rehabilitation process, in which a physiotherapist is delivering therapy only to one patient at a time, is undoubtedly significantly more effective and safer, allowing the adaption of therapies and intensification of activities in relation to the rate of progression of the rehabilitation for each individual separately. More information about rehabilitation at our center on

Isokinetic dynamometry

This is a physiologic instrument for measuring muscle strength under dynamic conditions. With this technique of measuring muscle strength we can estimate the power, performance and endurance of different muscle groups at circular motion in various joints with a certain and a selected speed of motion.

Isometric testing can be usefully and safely used in assessing the progress of rehabilitation after orthopedic and trauma surgery on joints and bones, after conservative treatments of injuries of soft tissues (egg  muscle raptures, longer immobilization) as well as in monitoring the impact of training muscular strength and endurance. An extremely important element obtained by isokinetic testing, is the comparison of agonist and antagonist muscles, as the proper balance of power among them is the key for injury prevention as well as for efficient and safe movement in sport disciplines, in which are usual rapid changes of direction of movement or deceleration or acceleration during the game.

Usefulness of isokinetic dynamometry is not limited only for testing. Because of the possibility of adapting the resistance according to the muscular force produced, the device is very useful for training throughout the course of rehabilitation. Particularly in the early period after injury, practice with this device is much more secure, since the precise control of muscle tonus reduces the risk of lesion recurrence or new lesions. In the later stages of rehabilitation, it helps us discover the power imbalance between individual muscle groups, which is important for planning and directing the training and later sports activity. Similarly, the isokinetic dynamometry was also proved to be useful in prevention of sports injuries, as periodic tests. In this way we can detect and measure the destroyed correlations in the activation of different muscle groups, even before the development of their injuries. With appropriate preventive exercise program, we can thereupon also remove the imbalance even before the injury develops.

ESWT - Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy

ESWT - Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy

Various tendon overuse injuries and chronic pain syndromes with tightening of spine muscles are undoubtedly among the most common orthopedic problems. In addition to modifications of physical activity, rest, and classic physical therapy, which typically includes therapeutic exercises, ultrasound irradiation, and various analgesic irradiation like laser, diadynamic currents and magnetotherapy, extracorporeal shock wave therapy has recently been proved as highly efficient for successfully overcoming such problems. The method works by generating deep shock waves, which cause large pressure fluctuations in the soft tissues. In this way, in case of calcinations in the soft tissues, calcinations seek to break into smaller particles, which can be absorbed. In tendinosis, the circulation of tendons is stimulated with this therapy, which accelerates the regeneration of tendons, but with muscle tightness and knots that occur in chronic pain syndromes in the spine areas, in this way muscle spasms can be relaxed and pain is eased.
